Mahalo for Your Support!

Without you, the 2011 Spread A Little Aloha Performance & Community Service Tour would not have been possible!  It was a wonderful experience for all of us, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share the Hawaiian art of the hula and the spirit of aloha outside of our home town.  We look forward to another year of making a positive difference in our community and beyond. We have a passion for community service, and have hosted successful projects in our leadership program.  These projects include: Hula for Haiti, a community performance which raised over $3500 for the American Red Cross-Haiti Relief Fund; A Hawaiian Christmas at the San Jose Family Shelter, where we shared a Hawaiian dinner with a Hawaiian performance for residents, complete with lei making craft for the children; Annual Toy drive for Toys for Tots; A winter coat drive for One Warm Coat; Santa Cruz beach clean-up for The Surfrider FoundationHula to Help Japan-Red Cross Earthquake Relief Fund. Ms. T’s Music Class: Music can reach students easily--but how can that experience be enhanced? Despite an enthusiasm for music, my students do not have access to books that relate to the subject. Their musical education is hindered by our school's $0 music budget. My students are high poverty urban children who attend a public K-8 school in New Jersey. They are incredible and curious but are often limited in what they see and experience by lack of funding. They have an innate love of music and take pride in their always increasing knowledge of it.   "Thank you so much for the wonderful performance and your generous gifts. All of the students are talking about it today in school."
